16th December 2016

It's national Christmas jumper day today and people everywhere are styling the life out of the most uncomfortable and unflattering styles and fabric known to man in the name of fantastic courses and just for fun. I have a couple of jumpers myself and a friend on mine the other day said that when they see me wearing one, that must mean they are stylish. Well I cannot promise that but i have selected a festive knit from Matalan, £20. As you can see from the pic is it a grey jumper with a gold sequin strip. It is sparkly enough to be festive, stylish enough to wear again on year on year and not too scratchy to craze you. Pair with denim or spice up with leather look jean or skirt.

With an obvious interest in style and fashion, I do have my favourite designers that I admire. One of these is the legendary Alexandra McQueen. A unique and incredible designer and this particular item is high on my Christmas wishlist. If you know anyone interested in design or fashion, this is a must read. Available from Amazon (other stockists out there) at £31, Alexandra McQueen: Unseen, is dedicated to his numerous collections, a visual delight. An absolute must for any stylish coffee table.

A trip to the local perfumery the other day resulted in numerous pieces of thin cardboard sprayed in a number of different scents and a very light head. Perfume is something very individual. some women prefer to stick to floral scents, some choosing more woody and masculine scents. my recommendation, is to head to your local boots with a good selection or the perfume shop and try a few. I did this and my favourite current perfume is Gucci Bamboo Eau de Toilette, described as a blend of exotic florals and woody notes, I was certainly my fave of the day.

Boots, 50ml, £54.50. The Perfume Shop, 50ml, £55.

Oasis have so many really gorgeous prints this season, it is hard to chose. But I've opted for the forest print trousers, £38. They are a real statement trouser. They can be dressed up with sequins or velvet for a night out or team with an oversized knit for a more relaxed luxe day time look. These trousers will also take you from office to cocktails with a swap of coat to blazer and ankle boot to heel. Versatile and stunning.

A second item from Oasis now and a purchase I have actually made myself, pre Christmas, shh! I needed a jacket for a Christmas party and selected this one from Oasis, the petite dolly faux fur jacket, £70. As it says, it is actually a petite fit, but I was wearing a full skirt so wanted a slighter cropped look. I am 5'6 and it sits nicely on my waist and I have actually worn it everyday this week, luckily it has not rained! The colour is described a mid neutral, the jacket is similar to a dusky pink. It is versatile to wear with all denim colours, my fave being grey for a day look. It is totally snuggly and soft, why save it for best and get your value for money by wearing as often as you like.

Thank you for reading again all the way to the bottom of the page. Hope you are enjoying the blog still and feeling inspired. I cannot believe the next blog feature will take us to Christmas day, eeekkk! Stay gorgeous and see you soon!
